A former prison in Franklin County is looking for fresh start.

The former Chateaugay Correctional Facility will be auctioned off this July by the state with the starting price of $100,000, the New York Post reports, and the state has some ideas of who the ideal buyer might be.

The listing singles out “Canadian companies serving the U.S. market” noting the former prison’s “strategic location” an hour and a half outside Montreal and just 10 miles to the border.

The prison, located at 7874 State Route 11, sits on 99 acres and has 30 “modern” buildings built around 1990 that total 98,000 square feet, according to the listing.

The prison was close in 2014 under Gov. Andrew Cuomo plan to close correctional facilities with declining populations, according to the Post. [NYP]Erin Hudson
