The popular bakery, Tate’s, was sold to Mondelēz International, the same company that makes Oreos, for $500 million. Kathleen King started the Southampton bakery in 1980. Mondelēz officials said they planned to run Tate’s as an independent company and let it keep its headquarters in Westhampton and its primary production facility in East Moriches. [East Hampton Star]
