AIG in talks for up to 200K sf at 1271 Sixth

Asking rents in the building run between $90 and $125 psf

Financial and insurance giant AIG is in discussions to take multiple floors at the Rockefeller Group’s Time-Life Building.

The firm is eyeing off a 150,000 to 200,000-square-foot space at , which is currently under major renovations, according to the New York Post.

JLL is representing the tenant in a proposed 11-year deal, while CBRE is representing owner Rockefeller Group at the 1.9 million-square-foot building.

If AIG signs, the firm will join law firm Blank Rome, and Major League Baseball, which signed one of the largest leases of 2016 when it took 400,000 square feet in the building. In September, Bessemer Trust signed a lease for 239,000 square feet at the building. Mizuho America, the U.S. arm of one of Japan’s investment banking giants, has 411,000 square feet in the building.
