American actor Vincent Gallo likes President Donald Trump “a lot” — enough to buy a unit at Trump Tower.

Gallo, best known for his appearances in Arizona Dream, Essential Killing and The Brown Bunny, has gone into contract for a one-bedroom, 1,026 square-foot apartment on the 54th floor of the famed tower, according to sources. He’s paying $1.48 million for the property.

While property records are not yet available for the transaction, a source familiar with the matter said the 58-year-old finalized the deal on Thursday. The seller — an LLC — has not been publicly identified.

The unit was previously listed in 2016 by Douglas Elliman for $3.4 million, and taken over by Brown Harris Stevens later that year with a new listing price of $3 million. That figure was brought down to $2.2 million in 2018 and the unit eventually went into contract for $1.48 million — below the $1.7 million asking price.

For Gallo, it’s possible the Trump name was part of the draw. He wrote an essay in “Another Man” magazine last year in which he shared his take on public figures, including the president, the disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

“I like Donald Trump a lot and am extremely proud he is the American President,” Gallo wrote. “And I’m sorry if that offends you.”

Sales prices in the tower have slumped across the board since the presidential election, with several units selling at more than a 20 percent loss, according to Bloomberg.

The latest sale is one of a series of transactions this year at Trump properties across New York. In July, the penthouse at Trump Plaza, located at 167 East 61st Street, sold for $3.1 million to buyers Conor Kelly and Maria Carmen Lopez Del Escobal. In March, a fourth-floor apartment at Trump Parc East, located at 100 Central Park South, sold to an LLC for $2.88 million.

Gallo moved to New York City from Buffalo in the 1970s and formed an experimental band, Gray, with the artist Jean Michel Basquiat. Over the course of his career, he has been credited with acting, directing, writing, producing and composing for film and television.

BHS’ Leonel Piraino and Rafael Salas represented both the seller and the buyer. Piraino declined to comment and Salas could not be reached.
