After years of being the City Hall go-between for developers, former housing czar Alicia Glen might soon join their ranks.

Glen is putting together a fund that focuses on residential development and possibly affordable housing, Crain’s reports. The former deputy mayor is reportedly in the process of securing a capital partner and has already tapped her former chief of staff Carolee Fink and deputy chief of staff Caitlin Lewis to work at her firm, according to the report.

“She’s thinking of starting her own business, as far as I know,” Carl Weisbrod, the former Commissioner of the Department of City Planning, told the newspaper. He now serves on the board of the Trust for Governors Island, which is chaired by Glen.

Glen stepped down as deputy mayor of housing and economic development in March. At the time, she wouldn’t explicitly say if she was considering moving into real estate development, but she told The Real Deal that her next move would involve “building and improving cities.” Vicki Been, formerly commissioner of the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, succeeded her in the de Blasio administration.
