These were NYC’s top office leases in October

October was an exciting month in New York City office leasing, with nearly 2.2 million square feet across the top 10 deals made public. Each of the top three leases on this month’s list was 300,000 square feet or more. Tenants ranged from real estate firms to software companies.

The total square footage of October’s top 10 office leases was a major jump from September’s total of 820,500 square feet.

1) Tribeca Associates, Meadow Partners, PGIM Associates, 295 Fifth Avenue, NoMad — 614,040 square feet
The real estate firms signed a 99-year ground lease at the well-known textile showroom building. Darcy Stacom and Bill Shanhan of CBRE represented the landlord, Manhattan Properties Company.

2) Cravath Swaine & Moore, 2 Manhattan West, Hudson Yards — 481,000 square feet
The law firm signed a lease to occupy 13 floors in the mixed-use development. Lewis Miller, Andrew Sussman, Cara Chayet and Munish Viralam of CBRE represented the tenant while Bruce Mosler and Josh Kuriloff of Cushman & Wakefield represented the landlord, Brookfield Property Partners. Also, Duncan McCuaig and P.J. Massey of Brookfield Property Partners provided in-house representation.

3) Uber, 3 World Trade Center, Financial District — 300,000 square feet
The ride-sharing company signed a lease to add a large office space to the many it fills throughout New York City. Sacha Zarba and Alice Fair of CBRE represented the tenant while Mary Ann Tighe, Evan Haskell, Stephen Enyon, David Caperna and Adam Foster of CBRE represented the landlord, Silverstein Properties. Silverstein was also represented in house by Jeremy Moss and Camille McGratty.

4) BMW of America, 555 West 57th Street, Hell’s Kitchen — 227,000 square feet
The automaker renewed its 10-year lease at the 20-story building that houses CBS Broadcasting and the City University of New York. Scott Panzer and Matt Rosen of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant while SL Green Realty represented the landlord in house.

5) LinkedIn, 350 Fifth Avenue, Garment District — 188,653 square feet
The career-oriented social network expanded its lease. Sacha Zarba, Lauren Crowley Corrinet and Chris Hogan of CBRE represented the tenant while Ryan Kass and Shanae Ursini of Empire State Realty Trust represented the landlord in house.

6) Katten, 50 Rockefeller Plaza, Plaza District — 125,000 square feet
The law firm inked a lease to take control of the fifth through ninth floors of the building. John Cefaly, Robert Lowe, Jon Herman and Evan Algier of Cushman and Wakefield represented the tenant while Tishman Speyer represented the landlord in house.

7) Adobe, 1540 Broadway, Times Square — 109,296 square feet
The software company renewed and expanded its lease, keeping its 27,323-square-foot office and claiming 81,972 square feet on the 18th, 19th and 20th floors. Brian Given, Sheena Gohil, Carter Beim, Kellam Nelson, Jack Senske and Frank Wallach of Colliers International represented the tenant while Mary Ann Tighe, Howard Fiddle, Eric Deutsch, Christie Harle, Jason Pollen and Benjamin Joseph of CBRE represented the landlord, Edge Fund Advisors.

8) Oak Hill Advisors, One Vanderbilt Avenue, Grand Central — 45,954 square feet
The investment firm signed a 15-year lease at the building under development. Lance Korman, Brian Waterman and Jared Horowitz of Newmark Knight Frank represented the tenant while Robert Alexander, Ryan Alexander, Emily Jones and Robert D’Amario of CBRE represented the landlord, SL Green Realty.

9) Better.com, 3 World Trade Center, Financial District — 45,000 square feet
The online mortgage provider expanded its presence in the Financial District with 45,000 square feet of space. The building’s landlord is Silverstein Properties.

10) Left/Right, 39 West 19th Street, Flatiron — 34,000 square feet
The production company expanded its 10-year lease. Erik Schmall and Daniel Thompson of Savills represented the tenant while David Koeppel and Max Koeppel of Koeppel Rosen represented the landlord, the Rosen family.
