A second suspect is in custody in connection with the brutal murder of Minneapolis real estate agent Monique Baugh.

Criminal charges for kidnapping were filed against 28-year-old Elsa Segura by the Hennepin County attorney’s office last week, according to KARE and other local news outlets.

Baugh was abducted from a home she was showing on New Years’ Eve and driven in a rental truck to an alley where she was shot in the head. At approximately the same time, Baugh’s boyfriend was shot while he was at home with their two children.

Prosecutors say it was Segura who called Baugh to set up a showing at the home where the broker was abducted, according to a criminal complaint cited by KARE. Segura allegedly used a fake name on calls to Baugh from a cell phone purchased under that alias and the phone was only used to contact Baugh.

The complaint says Segura confirmed to police that it was her voice on a message left for Baugh. She was released from police custody before the felony charges against her were filed and a warrant was issued for her arrest before she turned herself in this week.

Earlier this month Cedric Berry was charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping in the case. Prosecutors alleged that there is a connection between him and Segura and also linked Segura to the man who allegedly shot Baugh’s boyfriend.

Police are still looking for that man and another suspect they believe was involved in Baugh’s death.
