Dumbo condo was Brooklyn’s priciest contract last week

Borough’s luxury deals included 11 houses, 8 condos, 2 co-ops

A condo in Dumbo was the priciest residential deal to go into contract in the borough last week.

The three-bedroom unit at 1 John Street went for $4.75 million. It spans 2,595 square feet and went into contract at its asking price after 161 days on the market.

Overall, Brooklyn saw 21 contracts signed for $2 million or more last week, split between 11 houses, eight condos and two co-ops, according to the latest report from Compass. The report looks at homes in the borough priced at $2 million or above based on the last publicly available asking prices.

The average price of those contracts was about $3 million, and the total volume was about $62.8 million. The properties spent an average of 153 days on the market and sold at an average of 2 percent less than their asking prices. It was a busier week than the one before, when 19 contracts were signed for about $55.7 million.

The second priciest deal to go into contract last week, at about $4.6 million, was for a townhouse at 635 11th Street in Park Slope. The seven-bedroom unit spans 4,060 square feet and went into contract at its asking price after 94 days on the market.

Other notable Brooklyn deals included a townhouse at 163 6th Avenue in Park Slope for about $4.3 million and a co-op at 200 Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights for about $2.4 million.
