Look inside: TRD‘s co-working event at SPACES’ Dumbo location

On March 5, The Real Deal headed to Dumbo for a panel on the Future of Co-working and to check out a new SPACES location at 175 Pearl Street.

With hand sanitizer close by and elbow-bumps instead of handshakes, real estate players gathered to tour, network and listen in to a conversation between TRD‘s David Jeans, IWG’s Michael Berretta, Laura Jean-Jacques of Jean-Jacques Group, Charlie Robinson of Servcorp and Francesco De Camilli of Colliers International.

The group gathered in the new location — with views of Lower Manhattan — to discuss the state of the co-working industry. Our panelists spoke about what the future looks like for an industry that is diverse enough to include giants as big as WeWork and small businesses with just one or two locations.

Although many market participants are now suggesting that the public health crisis will lead to a re-think around shared offices spaces — some are now temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak — panelists were confident that co-working is here to stay.
