Meredith Marshall

Throughout his career, BRP Companies co-founder Meredith Marshall has prioritized mixed-income and workforce housing.

Last year, Marshall joined TRD for a Coffee Talk, in which he and our own Hiten Samtani discussed the good intentions and gaps in understanding of city politicians when it comes to developing affordable housing.

The New York-based mixed-income developer has also had his hands in global markets. Before BRP, Marshall was key to transactions like the $37 million development of a mixed-use office complex and mall in Harare, Zimbabwe.

In 2020, BRP Companies made the TRD cut for the most active developers in New York City; and in 2021, Crain’s named Marshall to its list of the city’s most notable Black leaders and executives.

Bob Knakal

JLL’s chairman of New York investment sales has no shortage of accolades.

At time of writing, Bob Knakal is considered to hold the record for the most buildings in the city sold by a single broker. Like, ever. Before JLL, he was Cushman & Wakefield’s top originating investment sales broker in the world for three years in a row. Before Cushman, Knakal and his former longtime business partner, Paul Massey, built their namesake brokerage into an investment-sales giant that handled over $23 billion worth of transactions over its nearly three-decade run.

Knakal’s recent work included finding a buyer for a development site on East 78th Street and First Avenue. He represented the owners, a private family, which sold the land to San Francisco-based Carmel Partners for $70 million in January.

Knakal, as we say in the biz, couldn’t be reached for comment at the time, but he’ll be at the Showcase next month and ready to dish on deals like this and so many others.

Kevin Danehy

This CEO said it best: “Industry 4.0 is upon us and the rapid digitalization of the built world is happening now.”

Digital twins are the way of the future, and Willow’s Kevin Danehy is certainly qualified for a role at the forefront of the movement: The proptech executive was previously Brookfield Properties’ global head of corporate development.
