A year after a trailer in Montauk was listed for seven figures, the property is back on the market at a marked-down price … but with the same number of digits.
The 600-square-foot, single-wide trailer at 100 Deforest Road has been listed for $1.1 million, the New York Post reported. The trailer is in the high-profile Montauk Shores community, where many view their trailer homes near the ocean as a status symbol. (Others just like to surf.)
About a year ago, the home hit the market at $1.6 million, or $2,667 per square foot, raising some eyebrows.
The unit was built in 1975 and has a number of intriguing features, despite its diminutive size. The home squeezes two bedrooms and the requisite bathroom into its small footprint. There’s also a deck with beach access, a garden, a heated community pool and a recreational clubhouse.

Most importantly, the trailer is mere feet from the Atlantic Ocean, which is why the owner was renting it out for $15,000 a month during the summer, according to the Post.
A buyer could be steps from power players and boldface names who have been flocking to the trailer park in recent years. Jimmy Buffett, film producer Karen Lauder, billionaire investor Daniel Loeb and Energy Brands co-founder Darius Bikoff are among those who have had homes in the community.
Units closer to the beach tend to command the highest prices in the park, but a seven-figure sum is far from unheard of in the area. In the past year, 10 homes have sold for between $675,000 and $1.4 million.
Corcoran’s Betsy Cronley has the listing. She did not immediately respond to a request for more information.
