Sam Lounsberry is the Chicago Bureau Chief for The Real Deal. After graduating from Colorado State University in Fort Collins with numerous distinctions and awards from its colleges of Journalism Media Communications and English, he worked as a staff writer for newspapers on Colorado's Front Range. He has covered business, local government, environmental, agricultural and energy policy, crime, courts, education and sports in cities large, medium and small. His reporting has won multiple journalism awards in Colorado and Illinois. In his free time, Sam plays pickup basketball, rarely misses Denver Nuggets game broadcasts, and enjoys trips to downtown Chicago and Lake Geneva with his wife and daughters.
