New Yorker to get $65M overhaul

The New Yorker Hotel has announced that it will undergo a $65 million renovation, which is expected to be finished by August 2008. Plans include a complete facelift of the building’s Eighth Avenue facade, improved Wi-Fi and television service, and a complete overhaul of the building’s furniture, carpets and wallpaper. This ambitious undertaking comes in anticipation of plans for the Javits Center, located three blocks to the west, to double in size by 2010. more [NYO]
