Home interior retailer buys $5M condo at 15 CPW
Evan Cole, co-founder and former CEO of the trend-setting New York-based ABC Carpet & Home, has purchased a condo at 15 Central Park West for $4.91 million. Calls to his current home furnishing company, H.D. Buttercup, were not immediately returned. Cole was the sole financer behind H.D. Buttercup, a Los Angeles store that calls itself a “manutailer furniture mart,” where customers buy directly from manufacturers. Instead of paying rent, manufacturers pay a percentage of sales, from 30 to 50 percent, to H.D. Buttercup. The firm plans to open 20 stores in urban centers around the country, including New York City. TRD
