Joseph Rose, a former director of City Planning in the Giuliani administration, plans a hotel of more than one million square feet at 260 12th Avenue, a block south of the West Side rail yards. Rose’s Georgetown Company plans a 66-story, 828-foot hotel on the site. Rose was a partner behind the Frank Gehry-designed InterActiveCorp headquarters, nearby at Twelfth Avenue and 18th Street.
