Bucking the trend, a Time Warner Center condo hits the market for $50M

While Russian billionaires snapping up New York City real estate have been the talk of the city’s residential real estate industry, the owner of a 75th-floor Time Warner Center unit is swimming against the current. The Wall Street Journal reported that Anna Anissimova, the former model and daughter of Russian metals magnate Vasily Anissimov, has put her 3,900-square-foot apartment on the market for $50 million. She bought the apartment in the south tower of the Time Warner Center for $9.86 million in 2004.

The move is rare as many wealthy Russians aim to invest their fortune in hard assets outside the country and outside the reach of the Russian government. But Anissimova is pursuing an acting career in Hollywood and wants to move west, according to the Journal. The apartment is also available for rent at $60,000 per month.

If Anissimova, who listed the property with Corcoran Group broker Lauren Muss, fetches her asking price, it would be the second most expensive Manhattan apartment per-square-foot after Dmitry Rybolovlev’s $88 million purchase in 15 Central Park West. [WSJ]
