Brodsky’s Lincoln Square office tower is getting over-due overhaul

The Brodsky Organization is renovating its 70,000-square-foot office tower at 157 Columbus Avenue  to help attract prospective tenants, its first facelift in 30 years, the New York Observer reported.

Brodsky has picked David Brody Bond to do the design work, which comes with the departure of longtime tenant Walt Disney. The architecture firm will change the lobby, elevator cabs and bathrooms, and upgrade the building’s infrastructure.

The owner also has tapped a team from Cushman & Wakefield to take charge of leasing efforts.

“We’re looking forward to repositioning this premier office building to the market and anticipate great interest from tenants seeking high-quality space in a convenient West Side location,” said C&W’s Josh Kuriloff, who will lead the team with Jodi Roberts and Drew Braver.

About 70,000 square feet will be available when the remodeling is finished this summer; rents had been about $48 a square foot. Disney had anchored the building since its opening in 1983. [NYO] —Christopher Cameron
