Why pets are a no-no in listing photos: VIDEO

If there’s one thing that real estate marketing directors won’t let house hunters see in listing photos, it’s pets, the Wall Street Journal reported.

“Eight out of ten people — if you show them a photo with a dog in it, they wouldn’t remember the apartment, they would remember the dog,” Nicole Oge, senior vice president of marketing at Town Residential, told the Journal.

Pets also don’t appeal to all clients, she added.

However, Phyllis Gallaway of Sotheby’s International Realty told the Journal that a glimpse of a furry friend would “warm up a picture,” and make it stand out from a general listing photo. However, she added, she understands why their inclusion could be an issue, and pointed to allergies.

“Not everyone loves pets,” she said. [WSJ]Zachary Kussin
