Construction firm HAKS expands at 40 Wall Street

Design and construction management firm HAKS just signed a 15-year lease for 69,000 square feet and is re-engineering its offices at 40 Wall Street, Crain’s reported.

The deal expands the firm’s footprint and extends its stay in the former Manhattan Trust building. The building is now the property of the Trump Organization. David Hoffman of Cassidy Turley represented HAKS, while Jeffrey Lichtenberg and Jared Horowitz of Cushman & Wakefield were Trump’s brokers.

HAKS has gradually expanded its space and extended its stay since moving into the building in 2004. The firm added roughly 10,000 square feet and extended its lease to 10 years in 2010, expanding and extending again only three years into that deal.

This go round, HAKS will give back its slice of the fourth floor, in turn taking over the entire 36,000-square-foot ninth floor. The renegotiated lease is reportedly around $35 per square foot, and the new floor will be ready by fall. [Crain’s] – Julie Strickland
