The Loews Regency “power breakfast” will soon return to the Upper East Side. Kicked off by Loews Corporation owner Bob Tisch and his brother Laurence, once CEO of the CBS television network, the meal at 540 Park Avenue became a popular fixture on the business scene in the 1970s but stopped when the hotel underwent a $70 million renovation earlier this year.

“We’ll preserve the institution of the power breakfast in its new home,” Jonathan Tisch, Loews chairman, told the New York Post, adding that patrons will also be able to “belly-up to” the new full bar. [NYP]Julie Strickland
