Marty Markowitz named VP of NYC & Company
The former Brooklyn Borough President will continue to market the city in his new position
Former Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will now promote the borough as the vice president for “borough promotion and engagement” at NYC & Company — the city’s nonprofit marketing arm.
Markowitz will receive a raise from $160,000 to $180,000, while gaining access to his pension after 34 years of government service, according to the New York Post.
Last year, NYC & Company, the group behind popular institutions such as NYC Restaurant Week, raised nearly $37 million in private and public revenues — including $12.5 million from the city. New York City saw a record 54 million tourists in 2013, and is shooting for the 55 million this year. [NYP] – Christopher Cameron
