Rentals in demand: Price inquiries for three-bedrooms slips
TRD's weekly look at the most searched-for apartments
The number of leads for inexpensive rental units in Harlem led to the median price inquiry for a three-bedroom apartment in the city to slip to $3,900 last week, according to Zumper, an apartment listings website.
Three-bedrooms were the least popular among prospective renters, comprising 13 percent of the leads. Studios had 34 percent of the leads and a $2,225-per-month median rental inquiry. As for neighborhood demand, the Upper East Side could not be dethroned. Filling out the top five were the Upper West Side, Hell’s Kitchen, Midtown East and Central Harlem, Zumper data show.
The priciest rental inquiry last week was for a three-bed apartment in Greenwich Village asking $6,000, while the cheapest was for a studio in Central Harlem listed for $1,125.
Methodology: Zumper determined the rankings by using a representative sample of emails and phone calls from renters interested in its Manhattan listings available for the week ending May 25. — Mark Maurer
