Event design firm takes 38K sf at Industry City

30% of 6 million-square-foot complex in Sunset Park remains vacant

Event production firm David Stark Design and Production signed a lease for 38,000 square feet at Industry City in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Sunset Park. 

The complex at 882 Third Avenue will hold a 25,500-square-foot production studio and 12,500-square-foot office. Stark’s company currently occupies 5,000 square feet for production in Carroll Gardens and 9,000 square feet for storage in Gowanus.

Clothing designer Steven Alan signed a lease for 11,600 square feet there in April. Current tenants include artisanal dessert brands Li-Lac Cholocates and Blue Marble Ice Cream, as well as 3-D printing firm MakerBot.

Jamestown Properties, Angelo Gordon & Company and Belvedere Capital jointly own the 6 million-square-foot complex. About 30 percent of the site is vacant, Crain’s reported. [Crain’s]Mark Maurer
