Edison Properties wants to build 260K sf Chelsea resi building

15-story property with 323 apartments proposed for West 28th Street

Edison Properties, which recently agreed to sell one of its huge Chelsea development sites to Ziel Feldman, is now developing another site in the neighborhood.  Edison just filed permits to build a 15-story residential development at 241 West 28th Street, according to Department of Building records filed today.

The Firm Bought Four Properties On West 28th Street to create a 30,000-square-foot rectangular site between 28th and 29th streets and Seventh and Eighth avenues, according to its website.

The building will hold 252,191 square feet of residential space divided among 323 units on the second through 14th floors of the property. The first floor will hold roughly 6,000 square feet of commercial and retail space. The plans also call for 65 parking spaces.

Handel Architects is designing the building.

A representative from Edison was not immediately available for comment.

Earlier this month, Edison entered contract to sell a West Chelsea site to to Ziel Feldman’s HFZ Capital Group, in a deal that could be valued at north of $700 million..
