City’s most expensive one-bedroom rental is $300K a month
Would you pay $3.6 million a year for a 1,200-square-foot penthouse apartment?
Talk about rent that’s “too damn high.” The city’s most expensive one-bedroom is on the market for $300,000 per month.
The annual cost comes down to $3.6 million per year, according to the New York Post. The unit in question is an apartment at The Surrey at 20 East 76th Street, according to the newspaper. The penthouse spans 1,200 square feet and has one-and-a-half bathrooms. The future tenant has access to the hotel’s rooftop garden.
To appeal to potential tenants, the apartment includes artwork by Ann Hamilton, Jonathan Borofsky, Nathalia Edenmont and Mel Bochner, according to the newspaper. Rottet Studio is responsible for the design and art curation at the penthouse, as well as at the rest of the hotel.
