Aby Rosen’s famous graffiti-covered mansion at 190 Bowery is getting a clean-cut makeover, starting with a restoration of its facade.

New pictures spotted by Curbed show the crew beginning to strip away the layers of graffiti and flyers that have accumulated over the years at the 72-room mansion that was owned by photographer Jay Maisel until Rosen’s RFR Realty purchased it for $55 million last year.

RFR was at one time looking to flip the property, as it was listed with Massey Knakal in November.  However, Curbed reports that the building will be transitioning to condos. [Curbed] — Tess Hofmann
