It appears Bushwick might actually become the city’s newest tourist destination. For the second day in a row, a developer filed a permit application to build a hotel in the neighborhood long known for hipsters and warehouses.
A former ViceVersa Vintage clothing store in Bushwick could become the new home of a 112-key hotel at 71 White Street, according to a filing with the city’s Department of Buildings Thursday.
Yoel Goldman’s All Year Management is proposing the hotel project. The filing shows that six floors will be added to the existing one-story property on the site. In total, the seven-story hotel will span nearly 80,000 square feet.
Goldman could not be immediately be reached for comment. ODA New York’s Eran Chen, who also could not be reached, is the architect of record.
The building is located between Boerum and McKibbin streets in Bushwick. The hotel’s first floor will include a restaurant and an open plaza. A bar and a gym are slated for the building’s seventh floor. Both the first and the second floor will include a retail component.
All Year Management bought the site for $9.4 million in November, property records show.
Goldman faced lawsuits from Heritage Equity Partners founder Toby Moskovits earlier this year over two projects in which Goldman invested that she alleged are in “imminent peril,” as The Real Deal reported. Goldman partnered with Moskovits on a $17 million development site in Long Island City.
All Year Management will get some competition in Bushwick. On Wednesday, Riverside Developers filed plans for a 140-key hotel at Nearby 27 Stewart Avenue, less than a mile away.
