Notorious Camden Hotel property to be replaced by 10-story resi building

United Management Corp. and Certes Partners bought the UWS property for $15M last year

One of the most troubled buildings on the Upper West Side will soon be replaced by a brand new 10-story residential building, according to a permit application filed with the city Wednesday.

The former Camden Resident Hotel at 206 West 95th street— which ceased operations as a single-occupancy facility after new owners bought it last year, is making way for an 18-unit, 26,000-square-foot residential development.

United Management Corp. and Certes Partners bought the property in August for $15 million. The top two floors will include full-floor units. Plans also call for a rooftop with a recreation space.

Demolition permits are yet to be filed with the city.

Chelsea-based RKTB Architects is the architect of record.

A representative from United Management wasn’t immediately available. Certes Partners declined to comment on the specifics of the project.

The facility used to provide emergency housing for people living with HIV. In 2012, one of the property’s residents fatally stabbed the building’s front desk manager, the New York Post reported at the time.
