Amid mounting criticism from the community, a local elected official has called on Tempus Properties to once again revise its plans to develop an apartment building in Lincoln Park.

Alderman Michele Smith (43rd) said Tempus’ proposal to replace a gas station and one-story building at 2658-2670 North Lincoln Avenue needs to be changed to address traffic and safety concerns, according to Curbed.

After a meeting with neighbors in December, Smith expressed concerns over the density of the project. As a result, Tempus and designer Space Architects + Planners reduced the number of units in the four-story building from 45 to 35, cut the amount of retail space from 6,500 to 2,240 square feet and increased the number of parking spaces from 17 to 19.

Tempus Properties did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether it will revise the project again. [Curbed]John O’Brien
