Developer Hubbard Street Group will start work on a project for 123 apartments within an old Marshall Field’s warehouse property on the Northwest Side.
The project, known as The Field’s Lofts, is part of the larger mixed-used redevelopment of the 1.5 million-square-foot complex at 4000 West Diversey Avenue known as The Fields. The local developer just scored a construction permit from the city.
The residential portion of the development, expected to be completed in the fall, would feature a mix of studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms with amenities on the sixth floor. The architect is Hirsch Associates and the general contractor is Macon Construction Group.
Hubbard Street last month received a permit to convert the old loading dock area into a storefront.
The redevelopment so far includes self-storage, warehouses, office space and retail, including a Cermak Fresh Market. The Chicago Tribune reported in January that Crate & Barrel was moving its Chicago office into 117,000 square feet of the complex.
