Structured Development plans to build a 197-unit apartment complex on what is now the site of a community center in Clyborn Corridor, and will pay to construct a new facility for the nonprofit at its retail development project.
In exchange for taking over the nonprofit Menomonee Club community center’s property at 1535 North Dayton Street, Structured Development will build a $13.5 million, 50,000-square-foot facility at its Shops at Big Deahl project at Blackhawk and Kingsbury streets, according to Crain’s. It also will donate to an endowment fund for the club.
Structured still needs city approval for the club project and the nine-story apartment building. The planned residential complex and Shops at Big Deahl are in the booming Clybourn Corridor, near Structured’s New City apartment and retail project at Halsted Street and Clybourn Avenue.
Structured earlier this month inked the climbing facility Planet Granite to a 40,000-square-foot lease at the three-acre Shops at Big Deahl, which in total will have 150,000 square feet of retail and commercial space alongside a half-acre park.
