Nickel Group, and its team of more than 50, jumps to Berkshire Hathaway

Broker John Lawrence is moving his Nickel Group team to Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Koenig Rubloff.

The group, based in Oak Park, is leaving Weichert Realtors to join Berkshire’s brokerage network, which has 1,556 agents in the Chicago area.

Lawrence will now serve as managing broker in the Oak Park office for Berkshire Hathaway, leading a team of 56 agents who will focus on Oak Park, River Forest and surrounding communities, according to a release.

Lawrence was not available for comment.

Nickel Group is the latest Chicago-area residential brokerage to switch affiliations, following moves by Conlon Real Estate and Hudson Company over to Compass earlier this year. Those moves added more than 320 agents to the New York-based brokerage’s Chicago roster.
