A new eight-story building is set to join the ever increasing number of office projects in Fulton Market.

Hirsch MPG Architects is behind the proposal for 730 West Randolph Street, which will include a ground-floor restaurant and rooftop deck, according to Curbed.

The building recently won the approval of the Neighbors of the West Loop group after a presentation from real estate attorney Michael Ezgur of Acosta Ezgur and David Gensch of Hirsch.

Work on the project is expected to start early next year, and it will join some 6 million square feet of office space in the pipeline for Fulton Market.

Chicago developer Sterling Bay is building a 19-story office complex at 333 North Green Street, one of three structures it’s adding to the block that will total 1.7 million square feet of new office space.

Next door to the Sterling Bay project, Thor Equities plans a 20-story, 400,000-square-foot office complex with ground-floor retail at the gateway to the neighborhood.

Tenant demand continues in the neighborhood as evidenced by Shapack Partners’ quick lease-up of the spec office building it developed at 811 West Fulton Street, even as office rents in the neighborhood rank at the top in the greater downtown area. [Curbed] — John O’Brien
