The Missner Group plans a renovation and expansion of a West Loop warehouse into loft-style offices, looking to double the size of the existing structure.

The Des Plaines-based developer plans to add two stories and another 140,000 square feet to the seven-story, 115,000-square-foot building at 1220 West Van Buren Street, according to Curbed.

The longtime home of the Oxxford Clothing Company will be renamed “The Oxxford” under Missner’s plans. Missner acquired the building in 2016 for $11 million, Crain’s reported at the time.

The 73-year-old building is near where Chicago-based Tandem Partners recently won approval to build two towers totaling 401 residential units at 1050 and 1125 West Van Buren.

The buildings sit on the south end of the West Loop, which has seen an explosion in commercial and residential development in recent years. Last month, the John Buck Company and Lendlease began work on a 590-unit complex at Madison and Halsted streets. [Curbed] — John O’Brien
