Downtown office vacancies hold steady

The Downtown office vacancy rate essentially held steady, creeping up a tenth of a percentage point from the third quarter to the fourth quarter. It ended 2018 at 13.4 percent, according to CBRE. The rate stood at 13.2 percent when the year started. Landlords have been able to keep vacancy rates virtually unchanged despite a rush of new supply thanks to employers’ continued demand for Downtown offices in order to attract talent. [Crain’s]
