Former Bulls forward selling North Side townhome

Jabari Parker, a Chicago native who spent part of this past season with the Bulls, listed his Fulton River District townhome for $2.6 million. The three-bedroom home at 457 North Canal Street in the Kinzie Park development boasts a large master closet where Parker stores his basketball shoes. Parker, famous for his prep career at Simeon high school, signed a $40 million deal with the Bulls in July and bought the townhome in September for $2.2 million. He was traded to the Washington Wizards five months later. Paul Gorney of Coldwell Banker has the listing. [Chicago Tribune]

Family sued over daughter’s wheelchair needs

A neighborhood group is suing an Old Town family that wants to add a garage to their historic home to accommodate their daughter who uses a wheelchair. The Deakin family won city approval to build the two-car attached garage on their 138-year-old home in the 1800 block of North Lincoln Avenue, but the Old Town Triangle Association opposed the move, saying the garage would harm the historical integrity of the area. Now the association is suing to block the project, claiming the family’s attorney improperly lobbied to win approval for the garage. [Block Club]
