Bears coach unloads Lake Forest mansion 15 months after firing

Former Bears head coach John Fox and his wife, Robin, sold their six-bedroom Lake Forest mansion. Public records do not yet identify the buyer who paid $2.875 million for the 8,100-square-foot home at 184 West Onwentsia Road. After three losing seasons, Fox was fired by the Bears in January 2018. He now serves as an analyst for ESPN. He and his wife bought the home from former Bear Tom Waddle for $3.275 million in 2015. The Foxes listed the mansion in April 2018 for $3.395 million and later cut their asking price to $3.09 million. Coldwell Banker’s Lori Baker had the listing. [Chicago Tribune]

Fardon selling Evanston home

Former U.S. Attorney Zachary Fardon and his wife, Rachel listed their six-bedroom Evanston home. Now managing partner of the Chicago office of King & Spalding, Fardon and his wife are asking $1.7 million for the 109-year-old, 5,900-square-foot home at 1416 Elinor Place that they bought for $1.63 million in 2007. Sally Mabadi of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group has the listing. As U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, Fardon oversaw the prosecution of former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert and former Chicago Public Schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett, among others. Kimbal Musk debuts new suburban restaurant

Kimbal Musk opened his newest Next Door American Eatery at Mellody Farm in Vernon Hills. The brother of tech entrepreneur Elon Musk said he was drawn to the focus on healthy living of other nearby stores. Musk’s first Illinois restaurant under the “Next Door” name opened April 8. He also owns The Kitchen in Chicago’s River North neighborhood. [Vernon Hills Review]
