White Lodging Chairman and CEO Bruce White has listed his Gold Coast condo, asking $13.5 million.

White and his wife, Beth, are selling the full-floor penthouse at 840 North Lake Shore Drive because they are moving to their Brush Creek Ranch in Wyoming, listing agent Tim Salm of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty told Crain’s. The ranch is part of White Lodging’s portfolio, which also includes the Aloft and Moxy hotels in Chicago.

The six-bedroom condo is one of the most expensive listings on the market right now. Salm also has the current most expensive listing in the Chicago area: a Lincoln Park mansion that’s been on the market for much of the past two-and-a-half years and is currently seeking $45 million.

The Whites bought the 8,800-square-foot unit as raw space in 2005 and moved in two years later, according to Crain’s. It has an 1,100-square-foot terrace, a wine cellar, game and media rooms, an office and eight bathrooms.

The priciest sale so far this year has been an $11.3 million condo on the 31st floor of JDL Development’s No. 9 Walton in the Gold Coast. The buyer was a Delaware LLC.

Another condo in No. 9 Walton, a seven-bedroom unit on the 21st floor, sold for $12.1 million early last year. [Crain’s] — John O’Brien
