College president’s condo turned into high-priced rental
University of Chicago President Robert J. Zimmer and his wife, Shadi Bartsch-Zimmer, are raking in $12,000 a month by renting out their River North condo. Zimmer and Bartsch-Zimmer, a professor there, bought the four-bedroom unit in 2016 for $3.3 million. It was meant as a place to live after Robert Zimmer retired. Wicker Park dive bar Rite Liquors for sale
A dive bar is generally in a neighborhood to match. Or, it probably should be. The owner of the famed Wicker Park bar/liquor store Rite Liquors is looking to cash out of the building he’s owned for 36 years. Mike Liacopoulos said it is time for him to move on from the business at 1649 West Division Street, when it was not in the hot, trendy area it is today. Pearson Realty Group’s A.J. Recruiting firm Michael Page inks West Loop lease
A professional recruiting firm has signed a new office lease in the West Loop. Michael Page is moving from 1 East Wacker Drive to take 10,000 square feet in the 24-story office building at 101 North Wacker Drive. JLL’s Corey Siegrist represented Michael Page in the deal. Interforum brings luxury rentals near Oak Brook
A Northfield-based developer debuted a new luxury rental project near Oakbrook Terrace. Interforum Holdings’ Lakeside Village of Oak Brook features 314 units near 22nd Street and Butterfield Road. The complex sits on six acres within the mixed-use Oak Brook Lakes project, which is being developed by Royce Realty and Management Corporation. Rents range from $1,910 a month for a one-bedroom to roughly $3,100 a month for a three-bedroom. [Daily Herald]
