Former Gov. Bruce Rauner and his wife, Diana, are selling their Winnetka mansion, but the couple isn’t quitting Illinois.

They still have two condos in Downtown Chicago, along with six other homes in five states.

The couple listed an eight-bedroom home at 720 Rosewood Avenue that they’ve owned for more than 23 years, asking $3 million, according to Crain’s.

The couple bought the half-acre property in 1995 for $830,000 and finished the 6,800-square-foot mansion the next year.

Jena Radnay of @properties has the listing.

Rauner, who made his fortune as a private equity executive, lost his re-election bid in November to Gov. J.B. Pritzker after just one term.

He and his wife still own two Downtown condominiums in a building on Randolph Street near Millennium Park, including a penthouse unit they bought in 2008 for $4 million, according to Crain’s. They also reportedly own two Montana ranches, a Wyoming farm, a Utah condo, a New York penthouse and a beachfront Florida home. [Crain’s] — John O’Brien
