Related Midwest named Frank Monterisi to the new position of chief operating officer in Chicago.
The 41-year-old former Marine was most recently senior vice president in New York for Related Companies, where he worked for 12 years, according to Crain’s.
Monterisi will be charged with helping make several major Related projects a reality, most notably the $7 billion The 78 megadevelopment in the South Loop.
“I’m really going to be focused on taking the projects and pushing them forward,” Monterisi told Crain’s. “We want to start building.”
Monterisi oversaw several affordable housing projects in New York for Related, including the Hunter’s Point South development in Long Island City. He said part of his mission will be to boost Related Midwest’s affordable efforts in Chicago. [Crain’s] — John O’Brien
