Chicago’s most expensive restaurant set to open in Sterling Bay HQ building
Ever, from the celebrity chef behind the now-closed Grace restaurant, will open in the building the developer is trying to sell
Sterling Bay signed a deal that will bring celebrity chef Curtis Duffy and his pricey new restaurant to its headquarters in Fulton Market.
Duffy and general manager Michael Muser plan to open Ever in the spring in a 6,000-square-foot space at 1330 West Fulton Street, according to Eater. Dinners will top out at $500, surpassing the city’s current most expensive restaurant, Alinea.
Sterling Bay is now trying to sell the building, hoping to fetch as much as $200 million for it.
Lawton Stanley Architects, the same firm that designed Grace, will design Ever, according to Eater.
Duffy and Muser previous teamed up on Grace, the pricey West Loop restaurant that earned three Michelin stars before closing abruptly 1½ years ago in a high-profile dispute with owner Michael Olszewski, a real estate developer and investor.
Sterling Bay built the 290,000-square-foot “Fulton West” complex after buying the block-sized property in 2014 for $22 million. Other tenants include Dyson, Glassdoor, Climate Corp. and Skender Construction. [Eater] — John O’Brien
