Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty’s Nancy Tassone, the exclusive broker for No. 9 Walton, wasn’t quite finished selling multimillion-dollar condos in the building.

JDL notched the most expensive home sale in the Chicago area in May when it sold a 22nd-floor unit in the Gold Coast tower for just over $6 million, records show.

Joining it on the list of top five sales in May were a piece of land in the north suburbs and three palatial Lincoln Park homes. The city and suburbs both have seen a sharp decline in luxury home sales this year, setting the stage for prices to stagnate.

All sale information was compiled from public listings and Cook County property records.

1. 9 West Walton Street, Unit 2201 — $6.1 million

One of the last remaining unsold units at 9 West Walton closed May 7, selling to an anonymous trust for just under $6.1 million. The four-bedroom unit on the 22nd floor measures just under 4,800 square feet.

After most of the building’s 66 condos were snatched up last year, some buyers — including Blackhawks star Jonathan Toews — are already looking to flip their new units for a profit.

2. 3365 Willow Road, Glenview — $4 million

Homebuilder Lexington Homes acquired this nearly 9-acre slice of mostly-empty land in north suburban Glenview between two existing residential subdivisions, a stone’s throw from the Tri-State Tollway. The property, whose land surrounds a four-bedroom home, was sold by a family trust.

After the sale, a Lexington spokesperson told The Real Deal the company was still finalizing plans for the property.

3. 1851 North Fremont Street — $3.5 million

This newly-built six-bedroom house, completed this year by Platinum Homes, comes with an elevator to connect its ground-floor rec room to a fourth-floor penthouse. Property records list the seller as neurosurgeon Sepehr Sani, and the buyer as Adam Joseph Code.

Millie Rosenbloom of Baird & Warner represented the seller in the transaction, and Timothy Sheahan of Compass represented the buyer.

4. 1127 West Lill Avenue — $3.4 million

Built on a double lot in 1997, this 7,000-square-foot Lincoln Park house includes a three-story foyer and a rooftop pediment overlooking a patio. Intrinsic Edge CEO John Gallop and his wife Caryn, a director at Impact Grants Chicago, sold the home for $3.4 million May 15 to Anna Dong and Jia Ming Dong, records show.

Natasha Motev of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty represented the Gallops in the sale, and Cindy Banks of RE/MAX Cornerstone represented the Dongs.

5. 2018 North Dayton Street — $3.2 million

Four years after Foster Design Build built this six-bedroom limestone house, restaurateur Brendan Sodikoff bought it for $3.2 million May 13, records show. The seller was listed as Cartus Corporation, a Connecticut-based relocation company.

The home includes a butler pantry, “spa bath” and a 35-foot rooftop deck with an outdoor fireplace, according to the listing from Compass broker Elizabeth Ballis.
