Loyola University basketball coach Porter Moser sold his former home in Wilmette, a year after buying Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts’ mansion in the North Shore suburb.
Moser and his wife, Megan, on Friday sold the eight-bedroom home at 115 Spencer Street for $1.4 million, according to the Chicago Tribune. They bought the home newly built in 2012 for less than $1.3 million.
They first put it on the market last year as a pocket listing, seeking nearly $1.6 million. They cut their asking price twice since then to less than $1.5 million
Paul Gorney of Coldwell Banker had the listing. The buyers were not yet identified in public records.
Moser last year took Loyola to its first Final Four in 55 years. Three months later, he and his wife bought Ricketts’ home for $2.5 million.
The Mosers sold their home at a tough time for the Chicago-area luxury market, particularly in North Shore suburbs where pricey listings had traditionally performed well. [Chicago Tribune] — John O’Brien
