The asking price on a 131-year-old Gold Coast mansion has been slashed by $2.4 million, but it’s still the second most expensive residential listing in Chicago.
The home at 915 North Dearborn Street, built in 1888 for attorney John Howland Thompson, is now asking $19.5 million, according to Curbed.
The home first hit the market last year at $21.9 million.
Listing agent Tatiana Miller of Coldwell Banker said the home was offered for a time on a private network before returning to the market at the lower price.
The property includes a home and coach house with six total bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms. Together they total 13,400 square feet of living space.
The Thompson house remains the second priciest listing in Chicago behind a Lincoln Park mansion that’s now seeking $45 million after years on the market at $50 million.
It’s tied with mansion in north suburban Lake Bluff that resembles an Italian villa and is listed at $19.5 million.
