Two-time Stanley Cup-winning Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford has been identified as the buyer of the first Hayden West Loop condo to sell for more than $4 million, making him the most prominent homeowner in the ultra-hot new building in Fulton Market.

Crawford and his wife, Kristy Muscolino, set the record for the building’s most expensive purchase when they paid just under $4.1 million for the four-bedroom, 4,800-square-foot condo on Oct. 9, according to records. But it was quickly broken by the unidentified buyers of two other four-bedroom condos, who paid $4.46 million and more than $4.5 million, in later sales.

At least 11 other condos in the building at 1109 West Washington Boulevard have sold for between $2 million and $4 million, Crain’s reported.

Condos in Hayden West Loop consistently make The Real Deal’s weekly lists of the priciest residential sales.

Crawford’s two-level unit is a penthouse condo on the building’s eighth and ninth floors, with an 850-square-foot outdoor terrace on the eighth floor. The condo had been listed by the building’s developer, Sulo Development, for just under $4 million.

Before the condo purchase, Crawford and Muscolino were renting a unit in the Illume building on the Near West Side, the Tribune reported.

Crawford previously owned a four-bedroom, 3,242-square-foot townhouse in River North that he bought for just under $1.1 million in 2012. He sold it to his father for just under $1.5 million in 2016.

Crawford has been with the Blackhawks organization since 2005. His current six-year, $36 million contract is expiring after the current season, according to the Tribune.
