The year is not done yet, and neither are agents netting jaw-dropping prices for high-end homes.

A Lincoln Park mansion sold for $11.9 million, the highest sale price recorded for a Chicago home since August 2018, according to Crain’s.

The 12,000-square-foot manse, which sits on a double lot at 1919 North Howe Street, was asking $14.5 million. It sold for 18 percent less than that. The deal closed Dec. 23.

The home’s previous owners, William and Sandra Sterling, paid $3.95 million in 2013 for the land the house is on. It’s unknown how much they spent to build it.

Tim Salm of Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty represented the sellers, while Phil Skowron of @properties represented the unknown buyer.

The market has experienced an upswing since July, despite various shutdowns.

Of the priciest home sales this year, five of the 10 most expensive were in the suburbs, as some buyers sought more space, amenities and privacy.
