Baseball players are famously superstitious so perhaps this particular Lakeview home held magic mojo for Wade Davis, Brandon Morrow and Craig Kimbrel when they played for the Cubs. All three pitchers rented the home, in succession.
While the three have moved on — Kimbrel now plays for the White Sox — the 5,000-square-foot, five-bedroom property is still around, and just listed for $2.3 million, according to Crain’s.
When the three pitchers lived there, they paid between $12,000 and $15,000 a month, Crain’s noted, citing the listing agent. The home is about a mile from Wrigley Field.
The owners upgraded the property after the last of the Cubs’ pitchers left, adding a fourth-story rooftop. That’s probably something all three would have enjoyed, in the spirit of Wrigley.
But despite the renovations, the home is still listed for less than what it was five years ago, when it hit the market for $2.6 million.
