Six Corners Real Estate Development leads $90 million project to include retail, residential space at 4712 W Irving Park Road

The Chicago Plan Commission approved plans to rehabilitate a historic Sears department store in Portage Park.

Six Corners Real Estate Development is leading a $90 million project that will include 50,000 square feet of commercial retail space and 207 residential units at 4712 W Irving Park Road, Chicago YIMBY reported. It will include a new 275-spot parking garage, 207 bicycle-parking spaces and a rooftop amenity,

The residential units, a mix of studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, will also meet the Affordability Requirement Ordinance by ensuring that 2.5 percent of the units will be affordable housing. Developers will also make sidewalks more pedestrian-friendly with more lighting, added landscaping and crosswalks.

Work on the 97-foot-tall building is expected to begin in 2022 and residents should be able to move in by 2023.
