Future residents of One Chicago will have a 3,000-square-foot dog run for their pets.
DOG. Hotel | Daycare, which operates out of Goose Island, has partnered with Chicago-based JDL Development to provide onsite pet-care services for the residents of the soon-to-be-completed One Chicago at 14 West Superior Street, the Chicago Business Journal reported.
“This partnership makes sense because we – as local owners – personally understand the need for sophisticated pet care that meets the needs of residents who thrive in a boutique resort lifestyle,” Bridget Lyons, owner of DOG told the CBJ.
JDL project manager Joey Letchinger said the new pet-care services One Chicago will offer fit with the types of amenities future residents will have access to. The dog run will be a part of the heated and covered outdoor amenity deck of the building.
Some of the other offerings will include resident-only lounges and demonstration kitchens, golf simulator and a putting green and outdoor grill stations with a rooftop deck. The building will also feature a Whole Foods market and a Life Time Athletic resort and spa. According to One Chicago’s website, the fitness center, which will occupy the eight floor, will include a basketball court and rooms for group fitness classes. A children’s play center is also included on the floor.
According to Lyons, DOG cares for about 25,000 dogs annually and the company plans to open a second location in Bucktown. DOG also maintains local dog parks by sweeping and picking up trash as the city doesn’t pay for dog park cleanup services. DOG also pays for power washing at the two dog parks at Ohio and Erie streets in River North.
